Title: IGT S Slot Dec 1986 change volume???

Hello All,


This is my first post. I am totally new to this hobby. I just bought an IGT slot machine. The plate on the right side and inside of the machine read:
IGT Stepper Slot 12/86 model 3056b. Could someone direct me where to find a manual for this machine. Also could someone tell me how to change
 the volume and find different sound for it.  I read that other slots can change the theme sounds.

If this is a 10mhz S+ slot....  (Pics will help).
Turn off the machine, remove the hopper. The MPU board will be at the back of the machine. Lift the black knob on the board up and remove it.
You will see a (usually blue & white) knob that adjusts the volume. It protrudes slightly out the metal tray. Turn it down a bit (left) or up (right)
Pop things back to where they were. In the future now you know the location of the knob, you should just be able to open up the door and feel your way to the protruding adjustment and move it left or right.
The 16mhz version of this board (less popular) gets adjusted through software. So if you are saying what blue and white wheel this may be the case.
There are only a few themes that you can adjust the sound theme on.... and you need the right chipset that supports it.
The 731 gane chip supported the various sound themes. The newer 1271 removed all the sounds and put in more accounting information. We can worry about this stuff later once we have more info about your slot.

There weren't any knobs inside. Nothing on the mainboard either. Must be a program via software?

It is a IGT S slot not a S+.

No theme sound options that I know of.

Volume control is a small partially exposed wheel at the top of the board that rotates part ways left and right.

Found it. Turned it up. Thank you :thank_you:  for the help. Going up on it stand tonight.
