Title: S+ Battery Replacement Question
Post by: NoClue on June 11, 2015, 09:06:43 PM
I need to replace the 3.6v battery on my Double Diamond.  I found this post (http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=6840.msg36656#msg36656) which seemed very helpful in telling me where I should find the battery, however I don't see anything inside my machine that looks like what is described in the note below. ...

The battery is located on the MPU board, which is inside a metal housing with a black knob handle. Pull up and out and the MPU tray comes out of the machine. Battery is in the corner.

Can someone please give me a clue? Or point me to a document that has some pictures or more help. Thanks in advance.
Clueless ....

No problem. The battery will be in a corner of the board OPPOSITE the plugs...so however the board plugged in, look on the other corners of the board. It would be a barrel type, most likely, something like this:

Thanks for replying!  However this is how clueless I am - I can't even find the BOARD yet!  I think I will be able to find the battery now that I've looked at the link that you sent.
Thanks!

post a picture of the inside of your machine with the hopper removed.

A few things:

- Once you find the MPU board (it's in a silver tray in the base of your machine, typically behind or next to the hopper), be sure to have the power OFF when removing or inserting it.  If the power is on when the board is removed or inserted, it can cause permanent damage to the board.

- Why do you think you need a new battery?  Is there an error code of "12" LED display?  That's the indication you need a new battery -- any other issue is likely not battery-related.
