Damn Memory Cracked Error

(1/1)

Slotman:
I have read and read again and followed all steps I have found but I am at a standstill for this Memory Cracked Error.

New machine.  Unknown history.  Appears to be very clean and in great condition.

Fired up.  Got Backup Battery Test (low)
                Got Backup Memory Test (cracked)

Pulled Card cage, replaced 1 battery on CPU.  1 Battery on GMEM board and 1 battery on the little board on the card cage.
Pulled reels.  Replaced the two batteries behind the reels.
Opened Door I/O, replaced battery there.
Total of 6 batteries.  I have heard people replacing 7.

Pulled card cage out 1", turned key to audit, restarted, same thing.

Set CLEAR switch on GMEM board with key in AUDIT.  Cleared the ram.
Powered down the machine.
Brought it back up.
Still have the Battery low and the Cracked error.
LEft the machine on overnight
Same thing.
Came in, Ram cleared again.  The Battery low error is gone but the memory cracked error is still there.

Noticed that the CLEAR switch needs to be set to CLEAR for the battery low warning to go away.

Re-seated the IDE cable.

Performed another ram clear.

Tried a different GMEM with different software.

Still same thing.  "CRACKED" is all I have now.

Anyone?  Please help.  I am scratching my head on this one.

Stayouttadabunker:
You have an Aruze KP3 machine.

I had the same "cracked error" problem.

Changed out all the batteries and did everything you did.

I just kept re-setting and re-setting that little button on top of the video card.

Flipping the key back and forth.

That stupid "cracked" error finally went away...machine works great now...I have no bloody idea what I did but it works.

It didn't matter if I left the machine on overnight or not.

It won't print a ticket tho.

If that error ever comes back, I'm going buy a big sledgehammer and be done with it.

Slotman:
I have read the same thing.  Some people have fixed it and not even sure how they did it.

Stayouttadabunker:
yep....and they really don't want to clear it again just so they can have a "cracked" error message....lol

BTW...I never found those clear MEM cards either...just the empty cassette box that plugs into the board.

I got the empty cassette from JIM but it didn't have any software in it.....so it really didn't do anything.
