Aristocrat Microstar 1986 Battery and Reset Problems
« on: October 24, 2020, 10:25:29 AM »
Hey guys,
i recently bought a Aristocrat Microstar which has some problems to solve. The Tilt lamp blinks and its showing a c0 in the credit and a 05 in the winner paid area. I can not delete this with the memory reset button on the door.
And i found a dead battery. But there is no voltage or type printed on it. Does anyone of you know this type of battery?
Thanks for your help

Greetings from Germany

It looks like there's a cap tack welded to the top of the battery. What are the numbers or words on top?
From the Esprit manual I found what may be the same battery which is a two cell nicad pack of 2.5 volts. You could just wire in two AA nicads if you have them, which would give you the same number. I believe these are just to retain accounting information and may not affect the general operation, but I really know nothing about Aristocrat. Hopefully another member will chime in.

Thank you so much for your help. I am now thinking that these are actually two nicad cells. Unfortunately there are no information's on the Battery except of "Made in Germany" and "738". Its charging the battery with 4.5 Volts. So i connected two nicads but that doesn't change anything. The error code still shows up.

I found the problem. One Transistor on the Hopper Board was broken. I replaced it and it and it works great. Until you pull the Handle... It seems to have some problems with the Reel position sensing. It says that reel 2 is not spinning and the Position of the reel is not correct. I switched the optic boards from reel 2 with reel 4 but the error code still shows the error for reel 2. Does anyone have an idea what the problem now might be?

Hi. Are you still working in the machine. I'm from you neighbour country, austria and trying to fix a nearly identical machine. The battery spoken here is a 3.6v Akku pack. Maybe we can get in touch because mine does nothing on Power up. Replaced the battery and sometimes iget hieroglyves on the dot matrix. Hoping to meet an expert on this machine Some where here. Best regards Michael
