Title: GQ-4X to burn BIOS PLCC
Post by: Neonkiss on July 05, 2016, 04:24:43 PM
I’m using the GQ-4X with a ADP-030 FWH/LPC+ Adapter. Chip orientation is correct and chip reads as blank. Chip is a SST49LF008A for BIOS.

I cannot burn my file to the chip and receive an error that the first bit of information is blank. It tries to write the data, but fails at the first bit. Does this need a jumper change or possibly an additional power supply for the GQ-4X?
No error or mention of an additional power supply appears on screen.

There's a lot of discussion on the MCUmall tech forum about using the GQ-4X to program the SST49LF line of chips. I didn't read thru all of them but maybe someone there has some insight on a similar problem. I couldn't link to the search results page, you'll need to go to their forum home page and click on search, enter SST49LF to see the discussions:

I re-seated my adapter and ran the ID check and it is working now.

Thank you all....
