Title: Bally Alpha 1 to Alpha 2 sound problem
Post by: JDKMunch on June 12, 2017, 02:05:12 PM
I just got my sound chair and I figured it was about time to install the 5.1 sound card.   When I install the card this is what I get -  tick tick tick

I'm guessing that the card is bad because it still ticks like that from power on - without usb or rca connected she just ticks from the moment it's powered on.

Munch,  There is another board used for the sound chair.  The 5.1 is for the premium games. There is a ribbon cable used that jumps off the 5.1 to the chair amp board-which is not cheap.  I am looking in a few to see if I have any new ones left.

Yes - I have that board too.  From what I understand it needs the 5.1 board to work

do you have the ribbon cable jumped to chair amp board and chair amp board hooked up properly?.

I have't started the chair setup yet - just wanted to get 5.1 working first

Ticking on the board sounds like the power relay going on/off or wrong hook up.  Most likely though you may have a faulty 5.1 pro amp board.

I discovered the problem -

I had the card going into the reel backplane - I found another connecter labeled sound amp - when I disconnected that cable from the old reel board and plugged the sound card into that connector it worked.

So removal of the reel driver thing from the back of the slot fixed my problem

Thanks !
