Title: BB1 Top Box Glass arched to chopped
Post by: davei on February 14, 2018, 01:52:34 PM
I have a Village People Party BB1 with an arched top glass. I am converting it to a Dean Martin's Wild Party machine and the only glass I can find is the rectangular (chopped?) glass.

What have others done in this case? A filler? And if so what would it be made from? I am thinking a piece of lexan custom cut or glass that is tinted or painted but am not sure.

Has anyone else tackled this?

Put a top monitor up there, run digital glass from a raspberry pi and be done with it.  :thank_you:

Sounds like fun but I wouldn't know where to start. Not the Pi part but like where would I get a "digital glass" to send to the monitor?

I have taken pictures of the game when it is in attract mode, occasionally you may run across the standard glass where you can take pictures of it. Finally I'm told there is often digital glass on the CF game cards themselves, though personally I'm reluctant to poke around in a linux computer too much to copy that. I'm doing pretty well in Linux to get a CF mounted and unmounted safely to explore it.

If the game uses a BB2 OS (i.e. SSG type OS) it will have the digital glass on the game card.  If it is the older bb1 type os (SSOS type) it will not.
