Title: Question about the Sp1272 chip and proper set chip needed.
Post by: Amechanic on August 08, 2020, 09:51:00 PM
I have a S+ in for service. I install a 1271 SP chip because I wanted to have the max credits available on the machine. I went to enable the bill acceptor tonight and used a 15 set chip. I did as I read and set the game from 9-0 to 9-1. It said to push the set button. Was that referring to the white test button? Next it said to set the denom, and I did at .25c. When I was finished it played, but the bill acceptor never lit up. I know the beze bulbs good because I tested it in the reel glass sockets.
Is that Set15 the proper chip to use with the 1271 SP? I wasn’t able to find the #9 menu to check my setup. When I push the test button inside I can find the menu 9, but I only see two 0  0 in the far left reel display. I not very comfortable working my way around the S+ menus. This machine has the DBV200, and it does cycle on start up.

SET090 should work. PSRs are available in the NLG File System.

Don’t know if I have a set 90.. This is what drives me crazy about the S+, needing to have so many different chips on hand. 🤨

RB would you have what I need for a Set90 chip?

When using sp1271 push the test button twice, then turn JP key 3 times to observe your 9_x setting.

Thanks. I’ll check my settings shortly.

Thanks Rick. I’m trying to do all this reading off my cell phone. I use my laptop only for doing things like burning chips. I have a broken hinge on the screen side. I can’t afford a new one right now with this Covid-19 virus going on. No extra $$$..

Ok.. I tried this. I pushed the white test button twice, then turned the reset key 3 times. That takes me to a 7 in the winner paid and a 0 in the Credits and a 0 in the coins played. If I turn the reset key 5 times I see a 9 in the winner paid and a 1 in the credits and a 0 in coins played.

My bad push button twice and turn JP key 4 times.

EDIT: It is enabled if you see 9 in WP and 1 in credits and 0 in CP.

With no credits, set 5 to 5_0 and 8 to 8_0.  If your BV turns into a change machine change 8 to 8_1.

I have not tried to run any bills through it yet, but I still didn’t have a light on above the bill acceptor. It only has 1 bulb, but I know it’s good because I tested it in the 25c door legend socket and it lit up.
