Title: Device not detected
Post by: Michael_Kauai on November 08, 2014, 11:08:43 AM: Have an MEI Cash Flow in a IGT 960 BAR Top game, Game has been in operation for years, now say's Device not detected, changed out cash flow head and the "NIC" card, no change in game status.
Used Banana downloader and downloaded latest IGT code for it.

Took a known good MEI head and "NIC" from a game next too it and it still does not work.

Any suggestions?

Post by: rickhunter on November 08, 2014, 11:36:43 AM: Does it get power? You might have a burnt trace on your motherboard that is preventing the validator from getting power. I would also check the harness. Check the green battery on the MPU make sure it is not leaking or damaging traces near it.

Post by: Michael_Kauai on November 08, 2014, 03:46:20 PM: Think I found the issue, the plug on the back plane where the Bill Acceptor plugs into was corroded, that's to some Coca-Cola glue. Will replace back plane, found this same issue at one of my other properties yesterday.
So you're right, burnt trace or a surface circuit traveling through the coke syrup.
