Title: Need Help ID'ing and Getting Parts Bally Fireball
Post by: Big D on January 20, 2024, 12:35:41 PM
Hi All,

I just recently picked up this Bally Fireball slot machine here in Austin, TX from someone that I think is also a member on this site.
I need some help to ID what this actually is:  Is it a Alpha 1 or Alpha 2 or V22/32 I'm kind of confused on the actual model??

It's in good shape, needs a good cleaning, but it is missing the MPU and the Bill acceptor.  Does anyone know for sure what MPU should go into this??
Also, it looks like it never had a printer in it witch seems odd, I would love to add one but finding the cages to hold the printer and new face bezels might be tricky.

I'm hoping that it wont take too much to get it working, So if anyone has parts that might help, please reach out.

Thanks
Dennis

Bally Alpha1 20/32  Not sure of official name.

I would put a 1Gig brainbox with video card in it.

Printer would go just above the BV.

I found a 1GHz board (209194) listed on ebay  for 175.00 with 25.00 shipping, but at that price I'm guessing it wont have the BIOS, Memory etc...

Does anyone know a good place to get the BIOS, Memory, and Software I would need to get this running? Any other chips required??
I keep reading about different versions of a Clear CF but I have not seen that anywhere?

Also, what video card is needed to run both monitors, and is there a special version of the Fireball software that supports two monitors or does it just expect it to have two?
I have allot of old Gaming PC video cards from back in the day, does it expect a certain model video card?

Is there other software that will work with the two monitor setup like this?

Thanks for any help,

Dennis

I don't think a regular video card will work. It needs bally firmware/driver whatever.  I would buy a 1gig box that already has the correct video card in it. There should be other 20/32 games for that machine.  Need correct OS for BIOS and correct CF Clear card for OS.

Thanks for the info, I sent Skygamingparts a message to make sure the BIOS chip came with the box.

I found what I think is the right software on Spin website, but is there a way to know what OS is needed for a the fireball software?

Thanks Again
Dennis

The fireball CF card I saw on their website is CL2 I think.  Useless if it is.

the cabinet is an "ALPHA Eliteā„¢ V20 - 32"

game card is 20556X with the x being revision level. 20556A which was superseded by 20556B, 20556C (Florida, Missouri, Indiana) or 20556E (Ontario)  place a wanted to buy ad on the site for that, or check with our member RB

it doesn't show that the 1ghz is required, but I would use one.

the minimum OS listed is below, however I would use the 336 as was stated:
"OS Compact Flash CRC / Date Media
AVOS00000324-03 67C7 / 07-14-2008 512MB Compact Flash"

Thanks,
Wayne

Love Fireball!

Just so you know down the road, if you want to run Lightning Jackpots and Fireball 2 Afterburn, you will have to add a stick of memory to the CPU. 2gb total memory to run those games. 1Ghz board is the way to go so you can run other games.

Is there a model number of the MEI head that I need to get?
I see lots of different model numbers: 6602, 6604, 6607, 6612 or will any of them work fine?

The price seems to very allot, Some on ebay for 35.00 up to 300.+
other sites have them for 50.00 or 75.00 refurbished.

also, do I really have to have a cash can, because they seem harder to find and a bit expensive.

But thank goodness I HAVE the interface card. :applause:

Yep, you need a cash can. I believe this is the model you're going to need. (someone correct me if I'm wrong) These get listed for about $25 frequently, so keep an eye out.
