Hi everyone. Hopefully someone can solve this problem. I have 2 mermaids gold machines. One has a short top, the other has a taller top and more glass. When I turn the shorter one on, I immediately hear the BONG, followed by a reel one tilt error. I switched reels 1&2, but the error stayed at reel 1. Fine. My bigger machine worked perfectly, the went to turn it on, and it's dead. There's 5 LED lights on the board, but only the 2 end ones come on. Thinking I have a power problem, I removed the power supply (A in pictures) from the shorter machine, and put it into the bigger machine. Powered up, all the LED lights came on th board, no BONG, and the hopper was spinning. I put the original power supply back into the big machine (power supply B) . It's a bit confusing. In short, power supply A works in both machines and all LEDs are lit. The short machine bongs and has a tilt reel 1, and the big machine doesn't bong, and shoots out quarters. Not sure what to try. I also noticed that the 2 power supplies have different boards. Is this important? I don't know anything about power supplies

Hi Scott, its Bill ( yes , that Bill).. your pics are of the power distribution box with the actual power supply being inside of the box. Are you switching the whole silver box ? Or are you taking out the power supply and then switching that? ( removing the 4 screws and 2 molex harnesses ... also when the machine is spitting out quarters; is the display counting down like after you hit the cash out button ? Or just spitting out quarters non stop ? You can pull the white door switch out and it will simulate the door being closed so uou can recycle the quarters into the hopper. Lastly; when you are switching the power supplies or complete distribution boxes... what LEDs are lit up after the switch ? You have 5 in the right and 1 on the left ... Bill

Switching the whole box. One has moles, the other doesn't. Its wired in. Didn't want to mess with it, so just tool the pics and put it back together. The LEDs are all on. 5 and the one on the left. I did try swapping boards, and the tilt error followed. (The board with the chips). Then I tried swapping chips, but then I didn't get anything.no errors. The dot display only. So..both boards will be freezbees within the next hour, and a sledgehammer is going to be introduced to both machines.
The top board..when I switched boards, the hopper came to life upon power and was shooting out quarters. Nothing on the display. I didn't cash out. No countdown. So I switched the top boards, and that stopped it, but still getting reel 1 tilt error. 2&3 appears to be cycling correctly.

Moles ??? A running hopper is usually a bad I/o board. But before you switched the boards; did you check thevjurisdiction on the board ; as they would have to be the same. Rather than switching distribution boxes cpu and I/ boards, then software; I would have opted for a simple clear chip first. The DS1 LED being lit is a possible bad power supply.. you suddenly have alot going on with both machines. .. is it possible to just put everything back to the way it originally was ? Being where the 9" Top was working perfectly and the 16" was giving you issues ... I suggest this because it would be alot easier the diagnose because I think uou might have jumped the gun a bit with all of the switching you did.. Bill
