Title: How Old is my BB2
Post by: mikeyg on April 17, 2024, 03:30:04 PM
I’m being told that to buy a game for my bb2, I need to know how old the machine is. If it’s not 20 years old, I can’t buy a game for it?! (Florida)
The only thing I have is the serial number. Can I find the born date by the serial number?
The plates and tags that were on the outside of the machine have been removed.
Here’s a couple of pics for clarity…

The plate with the serial number and date of manufacture has been removed.  Some dealers in Florida do this so they can claim they don't know when it was made.  The truth is all bb2 machines are not 20 year old machines (they were first introduced in 2008, so almost there for 20 years on some machines), so they would not be legal to sell/own to an individual in florida.  But if you already have the machine, you can buy whatever game you want for it and change it.  All you need is a clear card to change games and of course the new game.  The legality of owning a slot newer than 20 years in florida is clear, you are not supposed to, or any part thereof according to the statue.  In reality, a lot of people in florida own these machines.  Whether or not the law gets enforced is another story.
