Title: Munsters Reel Strips
Post by: IFFV68 on March 19, 2014, 11:34:53 AM
I was looking at the other site but couldn't get on.
There was a W.T.B. for Munsters Reel Strips.
I don't have an extra set but i do have a 200 & 300.

I didn't know exactly what they were looking for.

Here's a link to the Feb post. That is an ABA set so those two can be #1 & 2 or 2 & 3.

Would like to mention one more thing.

Every Munster Reel Strip that I have had in my possession are NON-WARSHABLE.
BrokenTicker please leave them like they are.
On Non-washable Reel Strips a sweaty hand can leave a finger print.
I always use those Blue Vinyl gloves to handle Reel Strips & Glass.
I hope this may help fellow N.L.G. Members.
I have found out the hard way on other strips when starting  out in the Slot Hobby.

Just curious, do the non washables have the transparent symbols so the back lighting kind of shines through?  I guess I am lucky, I have minty washable glossy strips in mine, and really cool the way the light shines through.  Just curious if the light also shines through on the non washable type strips.

Most non-washable strips are all backlit types.  It's just the way they were manufactured. I almost believe they did it purposely so that casinos would have to buy new ones every so often, because they fade really fast.

As stated,  Most were non-washable.  I had Later release ones I guess as they were washable type back in the day and not that long ago,  Yes they were Orginals-not copies or fakes.  For some that may be new,  non-washable means if you wipe them with liquid, windex, water etc. the art/color will run and be all dicked up.  The washable type are more user friendly but extreme care must still be taken as just a damp clean smooth non-textiours cloth etc.- :arrowthruhead: .

The Non-Washable Back-lit strips that I have the lights shine thru so the Bat will have lit eyes..
I got these several years ago from L.A. Slots.
There seems to be some kind of coating on them to give them a creamy rustic look.

Yep, Prob. back when Larry and Roger was helping out--esp the latter name there.  I had talked to "Betto" many times after, was never able to work out anything-guess- :money: :money:  was not good.  Many folks in the world but what kind of name is Betto- :Scratch-Head: .   Here's another "Angela Rock"  (which I have no problem with).   Not bashing anyone have you,  Things change over time like wine and a good cigar and "other".

I actually waxed my non-washable Munsters strips.

Jason,  Most of the ancient people used wax on their mummy wrappings and embombing methods!- :mummy: .  The wax was made however of diff. elements than we are accustomed to--- :EmoticonHelp4: :Tongue_Out: .  Not getting off  topic but congrats.  Wax does work on those--great to bring it back up.

I've never heard of waxing reel strips.
It's a fun game.
I have the Long & Short Reel Glass. Great  idea about Halloween. I'll have to dig it out.

I have some liquid, non abrasive Carnuba based car wax I wax all my strips with.  It fills in the minor scratches and imperfections, and makes them look fabulous!  Everyone should try this, just NOT on non washable strips.  The more liquid in nature the wax, the better.  easy on, easy off.
