I am going through the process of replacing my fans,as they get older they are getting louder. I have noticed the noise has been reduced by at least 50% by replacing them. The sizes are in metric. The 5/12v power supply takes 50x50x10mm 12volt DC .The 10mm is the thickness and may be 15mm depending on brand. You will need 2 The 24v power supply also takes 50x50x10mm but could be either 24v or 5v DC depending on brand You may need 1 or 2 The MPU power supply takes 2, 40x40x20mm 12volt DC The 2 MPU cooling fans are 40x40x10mm 12volt DC The Upper Cabinet fan is 80x80x25mm 24v DC The Cabinet fan on the right side behind the reels is 120x120x25 24v DC |

Great tip! I better do that. I have 1 or two fans out right now. |

First thing I do when I get any alpha power supply or cabinet is change the fans that don't work, and clean and lube the ones that do. If you have a dual video card on it, the fan on that also needs to be checked. |

Not all fans are the same. Make sure you replace a fan with one that has the same specs, CFM is the most important spec. Power in watts or amps is important too, and lastly, rpm which generally goes with CFM. Just because you replace a fan with the same size doesn't mean it will be the correct fan. This is especially important for the BB2 CPU case fan switch supplies cool air to the video card and the processor board. |
