Title: Slot machine restoration
Post by: David Walz on May 26, 2018, 09:31:24 PM

 I just wanted to let you know how much enjoyment I've had working this slot machine. My wife is not able to get around much with her disabilities. She really enjoyed playing the slots in Las Vegas for decades, living in Alaska we can't afford trips to Las Vegas like when we were living in San Diego.

 :nerd:
So, I've got a workshop and garage, both are set up with soldering abilities, ohm meters, etc. This way I can work on large projects in the garage, and small jobs for the workshop. Working on the slot machine was easy with my garage set up, and the best part is I can stop anytime and come back to it later on.

 :Scratch-Head:
The problem that I came up with is my black cat Salem can't stand the tracing equipment tone. It drives her crazy so I have to work on the slot machine without it, I can only use it in the shop where she can't venture into, this makes the job tracing wires a bit more interesting. Salem is more like my fur child, she's attached to me.

So my wife goes on vacation for two weeks, and I'm able to focus my time on the slot machine without honey dues to distract me. This made my job of checking for gremlins easier to locate, service, repairs, and complete the job. Everything in the slot machine was well made, the wear and tear from the decades didn't produce to much wear on the parts, I was fortunate to find a cabinet that wasn't abused which helped the restoration.

Now it's time for me to move on to the house chores, gardening, tree planting, landscaping, truck service, and detail the Lincoln.
