Disaster of a deal
« on: January 15, 2019, 01:57:50 PM »
I recently have had a nightmare of a deal....
The Person is a member here and for now I will keep that persons name out of this discussion

Before Christmas I got a load of games for my Xmas inventory. Some of the higher end games had deposits placed on them and were to be delivered for or before Xmas. I came back with 33 games on 12/8/18.... when doing the deal all games were to be parts complete and booting machines. I was given this mans word anything not in that state would be made right, some games were missing software ect which was to be sent to me in the next few days. Total deal cost $11,175.00 for machines only ....plus truck rental plus help .... I immediately dove into this load the following day and had been on it every minute awake to shop as many as possible and to have diagnosed so a list could be given and parts in my hands fast as well as shop the ones needed to be delivered for Xmas ..... some parts have been sent back to be swapped out weeks ago and nothing was sent to me yet , software which I should have had in a few days I still do not have. It’s been 37 days since I left down there and of the 33 machines 16 of them are either incomplete, or have major component failures which I need swapped out and have not gotten anything yet. It’s now long past Xmas, ppl who have placed deposits on games now want $$ back and are incredibly pissed off. that $$ was spent on their games.... I’m now stuck with a mess and a pile of either incomplete machines or broken machines which were to be booting parts complete games.... all said and done near $13,000.00 into this mess ...... I would like opinions of what to do now
Thanks

those of us in this business have had similar dealings along the way - you have handled this mess very cordially - i can smell the steam coming from your fingers as you typed - once you settle with this dealer - maybe he will chime in and explain his side of the story (if there is one) .  At some point a "buyer beware" may be appropriate. Good luck

And that is this business in a nutshell. Shake hands with one hand, cover your ass with the other. Seems everybody wants to be a wholesaler these days. Many lack the business skills to grow such a business. Sad, but you really have no options but to try to work something out with the "dealer". I know GOS is familiar with these types of dealers. I can think of one in Reno that both he and I used 25 years ago. As a matter of fact, we were at a dinner at the Sparks Nugget and this dealer's brother spent the night picking his nose. Here's your sign!

yes we know her and the brother well - and her "girl friend" at Nevada Gaming.  Tough dealings back then when there were only a few brokers around - i remember when she sold the same lot of machines to several buyers!!! me being one of them- wish i had saved the Gaming Paperwork

Sounds like that Could be a sticky deal.   There are only a couple That I know on or near the east coast that has 6000 machines housed.  Sure that's not a exaggeration on the amount of machines?.  Just curious.

Hey everyone. It is me who is being referred to here. Yes. Sold shop. Tried to call this man today. No answer. Td him would make a deal to close this so I could go into hospital. No way I guaranteed 33 machines to boot up after sitting 3+ years minimum. Now I did say that 3 Barcrest would and gave lots of stuff to him so they did. He plugged in them
Nobody sells a 100$ machine as is that they picked out to us and play. But yes.i do owe a few items that were missing or in wrong machine.

Put a number on it and don't here so the cracker Jack team can comment.

I agreed to a fee Simms and some cords
Not monitors power supplies but reached out and sent a return label for the CPUs. First one had bios chip leg bent over.

First I heard of some of these this stuff being bad was last weekend saying some bvs were "fucked up"

Now before guys flame me.
Ask about the flashing he did and if same unit went into same game. ie jumper settings

Now. Out of over 4000 machines. Who here really thinks I sold ones I knew anything about

For the record .. $100 for a round top  S-2000 Siz 7

Now power was available and this person plus money man plus helper were aty place over 12 hours

I am such a prick. That is why I bought everyone dinner and coffee being concerned about long drive

For the record. And I have emails to all the haters. This was a
Supposed to be .cash deal and quoted cash prices. Only after Ll 33 were loaded did the money man send Paypal. At about $395 in fees

So since you want to air the issue here instead of answering phone

Put a number on the 3 CPUs I agreed to. The software if you don't wang to wait on me and the power cords

For the record. I did keep my word on a price of certain game and when I realized had a UBA instead of wba I kept same price

Now

Price. Take off for 2 dbl top dollar and 1 regular top dollar S -2000 that a well liked larger dealer here ifferee me the same 5k I sold to you for And they would have paid cash
Just seems odd you said you said cash and then maybe some PayPal.i don't mind the fees but the threat you made of going back on credit card for as is parts complete

These gaes came from 4 different casinos minimum. On top of the S + S 6000 and Mikohn

I personally sold some from the same batch a few years ago with no complaints

Jim..
I hope your surgery goes well, and sorry to see you getting out of the business. I don’t understand that some people that don’t grasp the concept of parts complete, as to mean it’s ready to plug and play. At the prices you were selling these machines, you would have to know not everything was going to work 100% after being in storage for 3+ years. I also don’t understand how someone could think that a PP Credit Card payment is the same as cash🤨. I’m sure if this was reversed, he’d be screaming his head off over the fees. Sorry this happened to you.

Jim, I don't want to get into a shit flinging contest with you on here so I am going to respond 1 time and 1 time only....

First off the BV heads were NOT flashed and were not attempted to be flashed, no flash will fix a grinding stripped transport. And there is no reason to flash them they have the correct protocol for the games they are in. the reason I want the flash software is to be able to maintain and service what I sell in the future. Currency will be changing again in the next few years.

We did not power them all up for a few reasons (1) most did not have power cords (which I was promised and never received) and
(2) I powered up a few and said this needs a PSU and you said its cold in here it needs batteries, which I knew was bullshit, but had comfort in you following it up by "if it don’t boot let me know we can swap out what ever is needed....you told me that on that night and again 2 days later when I called you about the first bad MPU I found, that you would swap out what ever I needed to make sure they boot and make the deal right.  I called you 2 days later when I went through every BB1 with a known good PSU and tested them and your exact words were "I’ll do what I have to if it's swap mpus, refund or send you another machine in replacement I will make this right. That call was 12/10/18.
A comprehensive list was made that day 12/7/18 of what we knew was missing wrong or short. I told you before I came, when I was there and the following days after the TOP Dollars were sold and had deposits on them and was to be delivered for Xmas and I needed them to be complete.
#1 was complete  #2 was missing the sound simm which you promised you would burn and send in the next few days. To this day I have still not gotten it. #3 Had a tray in it from a king cash, so I need s/w and a sound simm for that one as well, which to this day I still never got. I have since lost those sales and had to return deposits because I could not deliver the games
The night I was there you were aware of the bonus frenzy needing SW and were to send that as well with the rest of the parts
You sent me a pic of the burnt card but never sent it; game also has a bad mpu which I had since made you aware of
I sent you (3) BB1 mpus for exchange 12/26 via FedEx, you told me you had 3 there tested ready to go, again this past Saturday you said you have 3 ready to go I asked you to send them asap and asked for a tracking number as soon as they went out. I have not heard from you till today and I have still not got any parts. That has since changed to everything is now suddenly gone you no longer have parts and need to drop ship them to me from another vendor

King of Africa SW and bios chip you know was missing from day 1, that I have still not gotten.
I brought to your attention the touch controller issues with the GKs you said you would also send....
To this day I have gotten nothing.

I did not expect perfect machines,  I don’t expect shopped playable games from a warehouse, but for what you charged me I expect what I was told and promised to get, parts complete games that boot……..and when I say boot I mean at least come alive ,post up …. And show signs of life.  Prices were way too high if it were to be any other way.

you can not say you first heard about this last week, tracking shows you got the bad mpus back in Dec for swap. 2 days after these were here I contacted you about MPUs

I am a very reasonable person, I have given ample time, been very patient and polite up until this point and been in contact along the way, I was promised a lot but nothing was delivered, how ever I did notice others who have purchased from your eBay account in the last 30 days have left you pos feedback meaning they got their parts and or s/w
I want my mine, the original number was incorrect it was $11,775 I spent and only (2) were $100.  The rest were priced very healthy BUT taking into consideration of you saying you would swap parts ect to make them right I did the deal.

And as a follow up on PayPal I specifically asked you the day before if that was OK or not, because it was either PayPal or a few days later for me to get that much cash out to come. You said you did not care, cash CC PayPal it was all fine. What ever was easier?

I can continue to add to this but I feel it covers things well enough.

I do not and did not expect you to know the history or condition of them but did and do expect you to keep your word, as far as swapping whats needed and sending what is promised. Is now 39 days and not one thing arrived here, I've lost sales lost customers lost money and yet those who purchase from you on ebay have gotten their stuff

I think any rational person can see and understand my frustration.

And yes you did get us food and coffee I do appreciate and thank you for that kind gesture

I was not avail by phone yesterday and will not be today , tomorrow (thurs) if you'd like to talk about this we can.

Jim , I did not want this to end this way or go this far but I was not making headway any other way

Been 10 days, have not gotten a call or email returned, yet people who purchased from his eBay account in the last 1-2 weeks all have gotten fast speedy service leaving pos feedback
Unfortunately it’s now time to take further action.

Wow... just read this thread.  off and on for years, I've said I'll get around to pulling my bill changers and sending them to Blue Ridge and get them
programmed for the new bills.  I've had the machine 10 years and haven't done it.
Now I know I won't send them down there.....no matter if someone take over the company and keeps the same name or not.
I'm in Ohio….so..... I may try to find someone close by that can do the job....maybe if I hand carry them down to where they are and wait for them.

You might be S.O.L.. From what I can tell, Jim has not been on NLG since 1/15.. If he’s had his surgery, I’m sure he’s home recovering. If you had slammed me here like you did him, I’d be doing the same.

Spoke to Jim  couple weeks ago and he was going in for surgery.  I have done business with them in the past and he’s been very good doing business with. He said he will get back to me later with a purchase I would like to buy. By myself having surgery it could  take a month or more for him to recover and get back into dealing with the issue.

Not sure why this is here to begin with.   Was the sale listed in the classified section?  Seems that the buyer is using NLG to communicate with the seller which is not what this forum is about last time I looked. Use email, text or phone which I presume was one of the way this deal got initiated. From what I understand Jim closed his shop, everything is gone and he was going to the hospital. Has not been on NLG in over a month now.

Jeff,  I also do believe this to be true as I recently heard that a dealer in Ohio had gotten MANY machines from Jim.  And I do agree with your statement about the forum.  I think the member has no where to turn but here for the time being so they are prob. venting. Peace-Out-- :cool_thumb_up:
