Title: help on rare fliptronic poker machine
Post by: DanDudeAmiga on May 30, 2022, 06:28:45 PM
Hello,

Need help on a tech forum to post into.  I recently purchased a fliptronic card casino game manufactured by Games of Nevada, "Casino Royal" draw poker.  Along with 5 "reels" of cards that flip, uses a 5" amber monochrome monitor to display stats and results, coin hopper and custom board set with custom power supply.  There are no manuals or schematics and no serial plate outside.  Has 3 boards stacked with power supply in front and on the bottom of the metal tray has a large service chart with sticky backing to show repairs.  The model number on that chart shows "GVP-14" with serial #000473.  On the inside, I did not see any plates or markings that I can see easily.

Can you post a photo of the entire machine rather than just a partial?
Does it work? Does it power up?
For now I'm going to move this to Other Video Slots.

Right now it powers up.  I get a loud buzzing sound from the speaker.  The monitor at the top says "door open" and nothing else happens even when I shut the door.  Found one connector disconnected, someone ripped wires off the reset lock on the right side.  There's a fuse holder at the power switch with a missing cap & fuse with no markings of the fuse rating.  Looks like some wires are soldered directly underneath the connectors.  3 fuses are on its own power supply board with no markings such as each amp rating.  Someone bypassed the main fuse--I will be reversing that.

If you have a manual, I want to get it.  If you have schematics, I want to get it.

last page of photos.

Note that there's absolutely no stickers, serial plates, etc. on the outside and inner walls of this machine.  Just the repair report under the logic board tray.  Looking inside the board stack at the bottom does have a battery in pretty new shape, but I have to test it.  I can wire up a temporary switch to activate the reset lock feed and see what happens.  Pressing the 3 red buttons on the power supply board are not doing anything.

I am also curious to know what that IR black plate does.  Is it just for bookkeeping?  If so, is there a device that uses it?  Thanks.

I made snapshots of the board set.  The top is the motor driver board.  Between them is the printer interface board.  And the main CPU board.  The connector in the middle of the main CPU board is not used.  Fins of the drivers are intentionally bent because of the lack of space under the printer interface board.  More...

After a quick test, I found no voltage across both door and reset switches.  In case something may have cut, I tested one of the hold switches and it shows 1.9 volts.

Ok great photos but please hold off on any more at this time. Thanks for posting good-sized ones as well.
I'm still looking for members that can help you and it's good for now. It's definitely a fascinating machine.
Again, great photos!

If anyone is still following this, would there be a manual and/or schematic to this game?  It would help me a lot.  Thank you very much.
