Title: Special slot machine controls for folks with disabilities
Post by: LuckyDog on January 03, 2024, 07:14:08 PM
Hi all,  please move if this is in wrong forum...

I'm looking for info on what types of special equipment is available for people with physical disabilities to use at a casino.  Aunt Betty can't raise here arms well enough to play a normal machine anymore.  My google searches haven't found anything.

I have seen people in wheelchairs playing slot machines with special handheld controls that were plugged into the slot machine.  Although very rare, I have seen this at different casinos.  Never thought to ask questions at the time.  Recall they were small devices the users held in their laps while playing.

Any info would be helpful, thanks

I would contact the casino or casinos you'd like to visit and ask them directly.

I have seen casino chairs with buttons at the ends of the arm rest, but not vary many and I forget the slot manufacturer.  Always thought they were kind of cool. If this is for home, it wouldn't be all that difficult to run a couple of wires out with a switch mounted on a box or something.  Casino play is a whole other ballgame.

This would be for casino play.
As I recall, the small controllers were resting on the users laps with a cable going up to the slot machines, left side I believe.  I've probably only seen these 3 or maybe 4 times over the last 20 years.
