Title: Gold Dollar coins?

Does anyone use US Gold Dollar coins in their slots? 

Since there are no parts made for gold coins, I was wondering if the gold dollar coins would work with a quarters setup?

Gold dollars and quarters are the closest in size.

Quarters      24.26mm
Gold Dollars   26.5mm

I already have the parts to swap to quarters, just wondering if I would be wasting my time?

IT is close enough in size that it will work. i have done it on i.g.t. and bally machines.
