WMS BB1 No 24volts
« on: October 12, 2024, 10:02:02 AM »
Hi, I have a BB1 machine with printer comm error. No power to the printer, no 24v led on backplane. I’ve switched the upper power supply with a known working one, still no 24v power. I also have unplugged the printer to see if that may be the loss of 24v, no luck. As far as I can tell, the printer is the only thing using 24v.

I’m looking for any recommendations on what else I can check, I have a spare MPU I can try as well.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Tom.

Other than connections I'd bet your replacement power supply is bad.  I just when through this with a stepper bb1 machine.  I ordered a single voltage PC style power supply and installed it.  Super easy and way cheaper than buying another old power supply and hoping it works.

Definitely check your line voltage going to the power supply and the 24v coming out of it.  I don't believe there is a fuse inside the 24v power supply to fail.

What's puzzling me is the power supply from another working bbu isn't working. I think you may be right, the 24v PS may not be getting voltage. I'll check incoming voltage next.

Update, 24v power supply was not getting power. I spliced and extension cord to the power input plug and 24v is registering. Now I need to figure out why the power supply isn't getting input power.

I was able to resolve the issue, one pin on the 110v coming from power distribution box was not fully seated. Now working with 24v power to printer.

That's really great to hear!  Glad it was just something silly like that and not more involved.  Thank you for posting what resolved the problem also.
