BB1 Low Volume?
« on: November 09, 2024, 07:37:36 AM »
Hi Folks,
I recently acquired a WMS BB1 machine to accompany my BB2 machine.  The 1 big difference I've found between these machines is the sound volume.  When I set up a game in the BB2, I typically will set the volume to a setting of '1'.  However, to get the same amount of volume with the BB1, I have to set the volume wide open or nearly a high as it will go.  Is this normal? If not, would changing the sound amplifier module fix the issue?  Thanks!!
Kelly Fiske

The bb1's should be about as loud as the bb2's.   That being said, I have observed that bb2's wired up with the digital sound output is louder than when wired with the analog sound.  You can tell a bb2 wired with digital sound if you see the spdif output  (the rca jack in the middle of top of the mpu)  is connected directly to the amp with an rca type cable.  When connected through the analog port, the sounds comes out of the backplane and it is wired into the amp with a mini-jack style plug.  The blue amps have both digital and analog inputs.  The green amps only have analog inputs.  BB1 mpu's do not have digital sound output.  If your bb1's sound is really low, I would suspect the amp is the issue, or your speakers may have issues.

I appreciate the quick information!  I'll give a new amplifier a try.  Thanks much
