BB2 to BB3 conversion add a printer

I just got my hands on a really nice BB2e cabinet with an upgraded BB3 cpu
I have installed a printer and I know I'll have to clear the machine to enable the printer...
I would also like to install new batteries while I'm at it...
The machine has a 14 game WV Multi-game package installed and everything works fine as is...
My questions are...
At what point should I replace the batteries? Before or after the clear
Are there any issues or special instructions for clearing and reinstalling the WV Multi game package on this bb2 to bb3 conversion?

Replace the batteries before the clear.  Otherwise the NVRAM will be corrupt from the battery change and you'll just have to clear again. 

Should be no problems at all, nothing specific is needed to clear/reload. 

Just replace batteries, clear, plug in the OS and game CF cards and boot.

Complete machine/game setup and done.

Ok...I cleared and reinstalled the game.
Redid all the settings to add a printer and I continue to get a printer com error...I've tried a known working printer, replaced the printer interface card, checked all cables from the printer to the backplane and tried every printer setting known to man...
The only two validation options in the comm settings are system and enhanced...there is no standard option so I tried installing a tito board using the system setting and still nothing...
Anyone have any ideas?

It’s not the Tito.  That should always be set to System validation.

If your printer is good and connected.  The printer type is likely set wrong.

What printer model do you have and is it connected by USB?  Or Netplex?

Side note.  If it’s a universal printer, and it’s connected with both USB and Netplex, it won’t work right. 🙂

After clearing and resetting every printer option possible I started looking for something else and found a loose molex connector at the power supply...printer error disappeared but it still wouldn't print...
After a little more research I learned that some jurisdiction chips won't support stand alone printers, so I cleared and reset one last time and added a tito board....
That did it!!!
