Title: Bill Validator Stacker Open
Post by: pdburgo on October 25, 2016, 10:26:28 AM
Hello,

I have an IGT IGame with a MEI cash flow BV. I just got this machine a few weeks ago from Chuck in Ft Mohave so I doubt that it's ever been powered up outside of the casino. I've cleared the game to set it up and I'm getting a Bill Validator Stacker Open. Does the micro switch on the MEI interface board control this? I've looked and I don't see any other switches or sensors. If it does is there any way to test continuity for the switch open/close state? Does the signal get sent through the wiring connector on the bottom of the BV? If so, does anyone know which wires carry that signal?

Thanks,
Paul

There's also an optical sensor.  On the top front of the cash can (looking at it as you remove it from the validator) on the left and right side you'll see a small hole with a translucent square light pipe in it.  It loops from one side of the can to the other.  The actual emitter and receiver is in the validator head.  When the cash can is installed in the validator an optical path is made from the emitter, through the cash can light pipe to the receiver.

Thanks! That's great info. Since they are in the bill validator head, I imagine they can't be bypassed.
