Title: Cheap touch screen for MVP.
Post by: eldee99 on January 18, 2017, 02:47:38 AM
Hi gaming friends :)

Anybody have experience with a cheap touch-screen solution for an MVP cabinet.

I know there are brands that supply kits (like Ceronix), but they are quite expensive for hobbyists like me.

Most computer screens use USB for touch communication; so this will not fit an MVP cabinet of-course.

Any ideas to get me going?

Thanks!!!

Hi Mark,

Thank you for reply-ing!

Unfortunately I'm looking for 19 or 20".

Can a PC touch monitor (like LG Flatron T1910B) be converted?
One of my friends has this monitor, and I can get it from him.

Cheers.

Thank you all very much for the answers!

I'm planning to put this LCD touch screen in an MVP cabinet. The backplane is still MK5 and the CPU is MK6-XP.
Where are the wires located (on the backplane) that control the touch screen? Are they combined in the video connector? I see the screen uses 6 wires (red, green, blue, ground and two sync wires). There are 3 other cables left (1 provides 5.5V DC). Are these for the touch panel?

Thanks!

Hi!

I've bought a screen with an intellitouch 2700u driver board. The screen is an ELO 19 inch.

Should I replace the intellitouch driver board with a 3M microtouch? What board should I buy?

I'm still a little confused about how to hook this thing up with only three wires comming from the mainboard :)

All help is very welcome!

Cheers
