Title: Old times Horse Race Games.
Post by: Andys35 on May 04, 2014, 03:22:24 PM
Between 1995 - 2000 i was seeing Horse racing games in most Europe Casinos. It was look like our slot machine putting coins inside for betting. Does anyone still remember what i am talking about ?

Anyone know which brand that was ? I am keep looking to find one . It is really big nostalgie for me.

Just a thought wanna share.

Thanks.

Yes,
As late as the 1990's at Caesars Palace near the Mall entrance on the left side they had Horse Racing Games that took coins.
I was watch a Family from China with their Children And I mentioned I thought it was illegal  for children to be sitting at the game.
I was told it didn't matter if you had a lot of money.
Sounded like a fair answer to me.
No one bothered them & Guest Services was there with them.
They were really Cool games.
Seem to be very popular at the time.
Where have all the Horses gone?

I'm thinking you guys are talking about the Sigma Derby machines. As far as I know the MGM Grand in Las Vegas still has one and I've played it many times!

After i post it i search in google but didnt find exactly same one. That days there was only 2 types of horse racing. One with like slot machines which so many betting button on front whos is gonna first second chosing, the second one was like a big crab table everybody is betting front of his buttons. Every table was played by 12 people that i am remember.

In these days i am seeing Netel Emtertainment has one of horse racing. Also couple of anothers placed for casinos.

But that slot type of horse racing game is amazing those days. I never saw some of them is empty. Iwas wondering too were all those games gone. Never see again. Anyone had idea ?

In these days as we are buyers finding so many types of slot machine brands almost easy. But what happen to those ones. If i will find one i might be still interested in to buy one of them.

That one looks just like the one Circus Circus had right outside their buffet in the late 80's and early 90's and yes, if you can find them in good working condition they are very expensive

This topic prompted me to do a little research. Apparently there are 5 machines still in operation in the USA.

#1 is at the MGM in Las Vegas
#2 is at The D (formerly Fitzgeralds), Freemont St. Las Vegas
#3 & #4 are both at the Montbleu, Lake Tahoe
#5 is at The Royal River, South Dakota
