Hey,

You need to select "None" when setting up machine(ee prom settings). Pinter choices should be Ithaca, Seiko, or None.  You cannot leave it at "None Selected".  Hope that helps.

How do I set up ( ee prom settings)? I do not see the option to select the printer. How do I get there? After the clear I go through denominations for each game there is a screen with 4 columns accounting, tests and two configuration. But I do not see a printer option

Hey,

ee prom settings are the ones you put in when you do a complete clear, such as jurisdiction, cabinet type, coin comparator, etc.

To look at your current ee prom settings:  With door ajar or open, turn jackpot key, second column should be diagnostics. At the bottom should be memory test. Select and then select "ee prom checksum". Picture of that screen may help.  Do you know if machine ever had a printer?

After I do a clear, the screen is there that shows jurisdiction;etc, but I don't see where to change any of the values. It does not appear that there was ever a printer.

I'm not sure how I got here but it does show the printer in the eeprom test, but doesn't allow me to make a choice of printer. Any ideas where to go to next?

Hey,

Thanks for the screen shot. Your jurisdiction is locked. I don't know if you can change any of the ee prom settings, but here goes.

When you do a clear and get to that screen, your make selections by pressing the little squares at the bottom. However, your jurisdiction is locked and you can't change it, so no little tabs/squares light up.

That being said, you turn the jackpot key to move to the next line, in your case, the "Primary Host".  Now you may or may not be able to change some of the entries, but if you can, little tabs or squares will light up at bottom of screen. You turn the jackpot key to move from line to line, top to bottom. When you get to the printer line, and if you can change to none, you do that.  Keep turning jackpot key until you have gone through the entire screen list including the last, in your case "Win evaluation preference".

Since that is the eeprom test screen when I turn the key it exits that screen. I don't know how to edit the eeprom settings. Maybe I need a new eeprom

You need to do a complete Ram clear with your clear chip and then when you get to ee prom screen you use jackpot key to move from line to line. Again, you may not be able to change any of the settings because  of jurisdiction lock, but I think you can. I have never used/played with jurisdiction locked software.

Are you turning on the three DIP switches necessary when using the clear chip.
After removing the clear chip and resetting the DIP switches and putting a game chip back in (if you had one for the P10 position) do you get to a set up or calibration screen?

I have only been setting the 7 & 8 dip switch and I do get the calibration screen.

Ok, after that are you getting a setup screen?

Attached is the setup procedure I see after a clear and calibrate and the settings we use in the shop to test a board on our GM tester.
Your settings may vary, ie: bill validator, coin in, etc. to get the board to work in a actual machine but the first setting is for the jurisdiction.

I found a posting that shows the screen I need after a clear, but I never get the screen. Does anyone know why? Is it because the jurisdiction is locked?

The jurisdiction can be changed to "1" by following the instructions on that setup screen.
If you make a mistake like selecting door type as mechanical when your machine has pulsed optics for the door type you have re-clear the game and start over from the beginning.

Here's some information/solution on your jurisdiction lock.

I got a debug chip on eBay and I am now the proud owner of a working Bally Game Maker. Thank you to everyone who helped me with my quest. Everything was reset to none. I used jurisdiction 1 and no printer.
