Title: Bally Alpha Top Box Disconnected Error

Have an Alpha Rich & Famous Monte Carlo getting top box disconnected error. Have replaced the top box reel control board and mother board. Have also replaced the USB cable. The Status light on the reel control board blinks twice pauses and blinks twice over and over. The USB Comm light is on all the time. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Trace the usb cable coming from the top box, sometimes it gets disconnected at the rear backplane behind the reels.

Have replaced the USB cable directly from the CPU to the top box. Same results.

I am not sure, but I think all the reels need to go through the stepper backplane.  I could be wrong on this.  I can try my top wheel machine tonight to see if a direct connection to the mpu works.  I've never tried it that way.
