Title: Reel Touch Video Comm Failure Error
Post by: tjlee on August 29, 2014, 04:36:49 AM
My Reel TOuch has been working great until this morning.  Sometimes it  boots and plays and then everything stops and I get a "Video Display Comm Failure" error.  I was testing a hard drive in it this morning and then put in the original drive back in.  It was after that I got this error.  I guess I should check for bad connections but I am not sure of the wiring from the bottom of the slot to the top box??  Is is Netplex??  Any ideas are appreciated.  :thank_you:

On the plug that goes to the hard drive, look close, some of the contacts can be pushed out of the plug from repeated plugging and unplugging

If you find one that has been pushed up you should see the end sticking out of the plug. gently push it back down with an awl or very small screw driver. you can then use hot glue to block the hole and prevent it from pushing back up when plugged in.

Good Luck,  Lin

LIN--Well I don't know how I fixed it but slot is working again.  Thanks for the info.  Must have been loose connection.  This slot has quite a bit of  smoke residue in it and on the connectors. All I did was unplug and plug connectors back in to back of top box and on feedthrough panel and Netplex board.  Guess I better leave well enough alone   :thank_you:
