Hi,
Is there a mod to control the volume in these machines eg: Using a potentiometer ?
Thanks Gav.

Probably isn't too hard, although the fact that you can (digitally) change the volume in the machine setup probably defeats the purpose. I'm assuming US machines have the same sound options as Australian ones.

Can change in operator/setup but does not allow you to lower volume all the way to no volume, stops at about 1/2 way

Did the mod to mine, I have the Volume pot and also the MK5/MK6 switch.
Cheers.

Jason,
Can you send me a schematic of the volume mod please.
Thanks Gav.

Where the 2 speakers are, (the Yellow/Orange stripe) you cut and run a 2 wire back to a 500 Ω variable resistor pot (I used some 3 pair phone wire, just doubled the wires), Refer to the pictures for connections. Once done, drill a hole to size in the location as per my previous post picture and mount the pot. You can customise by printing "VOL L" and "VOL H". You should now be able to turn the volume down to very quiet (not completely silent) and VERY LOUD, (Note:- not recommended as you may over drive the speakers and sound circuit) but it will be louder than the on screen display volume. Have fun. Cheers.

Thanks, and a quick question, what is the MK5 / Mk6 switch do? I thought the boards were one or the other?
Thanks

That was suppose to control the volume if you kept pushing it.

The Mk5/Mk6 switch allows the door switch normally open/closed so you can play either format gameboard.
