Trying to convert a cfast card to work on a cf machine

<< < (3/3)

Just found a pic of my machine with the game when I changed it out to Gen8 CPU and amp, plus USB touch

We did change out the touch controller as well.  The usb touch control would work perfectly with the oem monitors, but it would not work on the units where the casino's had replaced the monitors with ceronix replacements.  My thought was that ceronix may have switched to a panel that is incompatable with the 3m microtouch controllers.

My machine had original OEM Kortek in it. The version of Linux did not supposed the serial touch, so had to change it out to USB

I finally found my notes on setting up the Revolution game.

474lsa is correct the game does play on a red board, with GT630 video card. There were 2 issues, one was the lack of touch screen which I solved changing out the serial controller to USB.  The second issue was the game played but not very smooth, reels were jerky sound did not match credit roll up at times..    I had a spare Gen8 CPU.  In order to make is fit I removed the metal plate attached to the CPU so I was able to slide the CPU into the backplane.  All was good except for no sound.  I had to change out the AMP to one for a helix.  The game then played smoothly then and the sound was a bit loud though due to the size of the amp.  My wife hated it...... :24: :24:

One big benefit of changing it all out was being able to play some pretty cool Helix games that refused to play before.
