Rick is one of just a few that can reset these boards after a battery change. I have used him before.

I just took that offer on eBay and my 8825 is working perfect.  Fair price, fast turnaround.  Got the board back, plugged it in and started playing.

MAME has recently started preliminary emulation of some VLC platforms, there is a good chance that bricked machines could be brought back to life if the PALs could be acquired and decapped, just like with the several hundred read-protected chips MAME has preserved over the years (case in point, the infamous suicidal Dallas DS5002FP).

Someone needs to coach him on the use of all caps..... I read some place that it could trigger a persons PTSD.  :banghead:
