Title: Jennings J400 reels won't spin

I just got a Jennings J400 and there was no battery on the main board.  I put a battery on and got it to accept coins (sometimes).  But when I pull the handle the reels dont spin.  The reel solenoids all click but the reels dont spin.  Anyone have an idea what to check?  Thanks!

Can you post a photo of the machine's inside where the handle is so we can see the switches and wiring?

There are two solid state relays on a metal panel at the back under the control board. The one on the left controls the reel motor. You can test the reel motor by pulling off the two spade connectors and applying 110V to the two motor terminals, but most likely it's the control board that's bad.

Thanks for the reply.  I am only seeing one at the base of the cabinet.   I am attaching more pictures in case I am missing it or looking in the wrong area. 

I have also noticed there is no power to the light in the belly glass.

I disconnected the reel motor spade terminals and then hooked 110V up and powered it on.  The reels spun briefly and then I got a puff of smoke from the reel motor area.  Not good.
