Title: Manual for 5500 Bally?
Post by: creech on May 18, 2015, 12:01:12 PM
I just bought a Bally 5500 from a museum charity event and would love to have the manual for it.

Through the wisdom of the internet, I found the battery was dead.   I replaced it with another 3.6v lithium, cleared the SRAM and now the game plays correctly.   The coin hopper agitator seems to be deteriorating and turning into a nasty gooey mess which has caused the coin ejector to easily jam up, but I found a new agitator on ebay and will replace that and clean out the gooey mess.

I wanted to also ask about the lock above the bill validator inside the machine.  I didn't get a key for that lock and wondered if it's just a regular barrel lock and can be drilled out.  I thankfully have the rest of the keys to the game.

Any other recommendations on bringing this thing back to life?  I'd love to learn what settings are available.

Welcome to NewLifeGames, and congrats on your purchase! Sounds like you got it up and going and pretty much figured out. Yes, you can just drill that lock since it doesn't sou d like any of the other keys fit it. Barrel locks are cheap, however, I would warn you to keep the cam on the inside, as sometimes finding the right one is tricky.

As for a manual, you can have full access to NewLifeGames.com (including the Classifieds and the NLG File System which has hundreds of manuals, including yours, as well as tons of other info on your machine) by making a small donation and becoming a Contributing Member.

Again, welcome! And please post with any questions you may have!
