Prolonged confetti screen at start up
« on: June 23, 2022, 11:23:51 AM »
Hello,
Recently when turning on my game king before it goes to the rotating color screens, I have a confetti screen for a prolonged period of time. Also the computer noise and fan noise that sound like a jet turbine, take a while to get "up to speed" before the colored screens begin. Does this sound like a power supply possibly going bad?
Something else?
Not an issue at all?
Thanks, Jim

Wait, you're saying you get a confetti screen, but eventually it goes to the rotating color screens and then you game works?!

I always assumed that a confetti screen means that the game will NEVER work!

I'll wait for responses here before I wait (and hope) for my confetti-screen boards to automagically start working!

Yes that’s exactly what I’m saying.

I've seen it for less than one second many times before the colors begin.  It never has gone away if longer than that though.

It’s in the range of 10-15 seconds I’d say.
Thanks, Jim

I'd replace the fans with new ones to start...."jet turbine" sounds is never good for a slot machine, unless you're in a jet.  :Tongue_Out:

That’s just a way of describing the sound. It’s been the same since owning it for 10 years. Usually gets up to speed quickly but seems to be taking longer than usual.

Actually this morning it was close to two minutes before the rotation of colored screens.

Does it only do this when machine is cold?  If you turn it off and back on again after running for long time does it still do it?

Just checked and yes when it’s cold. Went right to rotating color screens when turning off and back on.
Thanks, Jim

Sounds like a cracked solder somewhere.  Doesn't get good connection until it heats up a bit and expands.

Alas, waiting a few minutes didn't work for my confetti 3802 board. Of course, I know many factors could be causing it.

At least I had a bit of hope for a little while.
