Thanks for the model number and link... For 250 pcs of the "more expensive model" they are $10.95 each. The seems pretty reasonable to me.
The link you provided also has the datasheet, pinout of the ribbon cable. Cool. It uses the SSD1325 chip in either Parallel or SPI mode (selected by Pins 19 and 20). The detail page on the web shows I2C is also available but I dont see that in the datasheet. To make things easy, look for a 96x64 OLED display that uses that same chip.. The pinout I suspect will be the hard part to line up, but not impossible. Honestly, if you can get them for $10.95, problem solved. Maybe I am missing something...
A quick aliexpress search for SSD1325 shows more than $10.95.. It would be cool to find different colors, like Blue or Red or Green, ........
