Whats the difference (if any) with these boards?

First pic shows what im using now in my upright gamemakers. I have been fixing boards for these & doing well. I DO however have a lot of the second pictured ones where the games sockets run horizontally instead of vertically. The pinouts look the same but I wont plug one into one of my uprights as I dont want to damage my test fixture. ARE they the same just different revisions? WILL they work in my upright gamemaker? They have different 8 leg eeproms on them & the game chips dont work on my boards so im curious if they arent for my upright 7200 then WHAT ARE THEY??!

Im no expert but based on the date 2001 isn’t that the later family of GM? Are they 8000’s?
Im curious if the edge connectors line up. Very interesting. Im learning a lot about GM this week!

The bottom board is a Bally Evo, not a Gamemaker.
