MEI installation in s2000

Bought a double Diamond deluxe yesterday.  Owner claimed that it was broken,  but works fine.

Machine has a tito set up to add credits,  and is set to hand pay.  No bill validator.

I had a MEI and it’s enclosure sitting around, so intend to use that.

I hooked up most of the wires,  but don’t see where to connect the red and black.   Is this the power wires?   Where  does it connect?

Will I have to clear/key the machine to power the Mei?  Right now the machine is on,  but no power on the MEI.

There is one connector that is not used.  You will have to go into settings and enable the BV.  Need to key (with no credits on machine) I believe, can't remember.

Got it.   The bill box may be bad though.   When the bill validator cycles on,  it is not making the correct noise.  On and off thumping in bill box.


Also,  I have the MEI bill guide display panel to put in.

Where do these connections go?

 


Also,  getting reel tilt on reel one.  Problem follows reel to other positions.   Would this be a dirty optic?  Failing motor?

Machine did play properly for a day.

Clean all the optic windows in the cash box.  Take the stacker out and clean it too.  Also clean and reseat the interface card and make sue the cash box is in all the way.

You have to unplug one of the connectors you just connected to back of BV and plug it in, then plug the other end back in.

Ok will clean the bill box and  interface card.

As far as the reel 1 tilt-  if I swap the reel to a different position,  it stutters at start up
& won’t spin correctly.  The display still says reel 1 tilt, even though the reel is in a different location.

Make sure you are getting it slid in all the way and the reel is not scraping the door or anything to the left of it like a wire from the door. Check the harness going to reel 1.

I was mistaken I m my last post.  Reel 1 position works fine with the other two reels.  Reel 1 tilts in all 3 positions.

Harness looks fine.  I tried swapping out the sensor, but no success.   Just replace?

On the Mei,  I tried to clean, no progress.  Used a known good cash box and it works fine.

Possible stripped cogs or something?

Take the guts out of the cashbox and wash entire guts assembly with mild water and soap and then rinse. There is 2 light pipes that will remain in the cashbox when the guts are removed so the inside of the cashbox needs washed as well.

Check the wires on reel 1 if cleaning/swapping the optics didn't help.  The motor on reel 1 may be going out.

I cleaned the old Mei cash box as recommended, and it works great!

I tightened up
The wires on my sensor swap, and the reel functions properly.

This machine had Tito, but the printer had not been used in years.

It is an ithica 850.  After clear & enabling printer,  I put in paper and tried to cash out.

Got a paper out error. It does pull tickets in,  but led light is out. Thanks

Swapped out the printer & works fine.  Perhaps they had it a hand pay machine for a reason.
