Title: Bally E2000 Error Code 50.000 - Door Always Appearing Open?
Post by: 3ncore123 on September 26, 2018, 06:31:29 PM
Hey everybody, thanks so much for having this forum. Looks like a nice place. Anyways, I recently picked up a Bally E2000 on Craigslist. The slot turns on and works fine once, but then stops accepting coins at all displaying an error of 50.000. In the manual it appears as if this means the door is open. I've tried running Test 8 and the game works perfectly under Test 8 with the exception of my 3rd reel being calibrated incorrectly, but my assumption is that shouldn't be too hard to fix. Unfortunately because the machine constantly displays the 50.000 error I cannot play it in any other mode than Test 8 mode. If anybody has any information on how to fix the open door issue, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!

Does it still have a round door lock cam that rotates and hits a tiny switch when he door is closed and locked? If so cut the two wires off of that switch, strip the ends, and wire nut them together.

It does have one of those. I measured the resistance between the terminals of the switch and it's showing open circuit when the switch is pressed and a closed circuit when the switch is not pressed. Wire tying the wires together should have the same effect as when the switch is not pressed, correct? Either way, regardless of if the switch is pressed or not the machine still believes there is an open door. Do you think it could be the wiring that goes from the switch to whatever detects if the door is open? Thanks again for getting back to me, I appreciate it. Feel free to post with any other questions.
Also sorry for the double post, I got confused when I was trying to quote you.

I fixed it! Now I just have an issue that my hopper doesn't pay out. Does it need a large amount of coins in the hopper in order to register?

Try test 4 with at least 50 coins in the hopper.
Also check your hopper fuse, is it blown? You may have a bad hopper board.
