Title: Need a little guidance with a validator question...
Post by: Samm329 on June 28, 2014, 07:59:07 PM
Hello,

So I just picked up my first slot machine, it is a slant top, it use to have a bill validator in it, that was covered by a piece of wood grain plastic, I removed it to find the inter workings and a friend told me I need to get a dbv ss200 head, I asked him if any one would work with new bills.

The machines glass offers acceptance denominations of $.25,$1,$5,$10, and $20. I'm sending the board out to get the batterie replaced and the EPROMs ready for service, he's also prepping it for the bill validator. So is there a specific model I need or anything like that?

Thanks
Sam

Super late to this thread but I just saw it.  That's an IGT S+ slant top slot machine.  The bill validator in there would have likely been a JCM DBV-200.  You'd need a DBV-200 that is ID022/ID023 compatible.

And for whatever it's worth, I do not believe the DBV200s were ever updated for the newer bills. Maybe the new colored $29, but that's as far as you'll get. JCM switched to a newe WBA Bill Validator that was "newer and better", but discontinued bill updates on the DBV200. Still a great bill validator, just will never take the newest bills.

You are correct, but you can upgrade to a wba 11 and program kit. The conversion kit is $225, one I was able to find, with programming chip.

Whoa! $225???   That is crazy HIGH $$$ !!! I'm sorry of you had to pay that. I didn't know they were so hard to find or I would have had them on our website for a heck of a lot less than that. I understand if you need it you need it, and sometimes just have to pay the price though. I will see what I can do about getting the conversion kits added to our website ASAP.

Cowboy - My fingers cant keep up with my brain sometimes...ok, a lot of the time!

Please let me know when you do, I have held off buying it. It was the head transport wiring box and chip, oh and for $225 an instruction manual on how to upgrade! But I've yet to buy it. If you get them listed, link me!

Thanks
Sam

Keep me in mind, if I am really lucky you have an extra to send for my machine, but I am guessing I'm just sort lucky and you will keep me posted on price, and when extra "hobby" cash comes up I'll be able to get it.

Thanks
Sam

I think you'll be very happy with whatever price Roz (CVslots) quotes you.  Her prices have always been fair, and they provide service after the sale if you run into any problems.

Thanks
