Hey guys I’m pretty new to all of this stuff but I’m having trouble getting my bill Validator/acceptor to connect to my machine I’ve cleared everything, Validator turns on making the noise it does when it starts up but then that is it, is there something I can try doing or am I missing something any help would be greatly appreciated
-
Open door and press white button on front of MPU. Go to setup/machine options/peripheral devices/ B.V. clear CRC
-
Ya I’ve done that and one machine will say “timeout was unsuccessful” an then another machine will say cry cleared successful
-
What steps could I take to make sure all the wiring is connected correctly?
-
This topic needs moved to GK/I-games
-
Well how do I move it then/ how do I know where to an not to post
-
How do I know what my machine is as far as an S or S+, as of now I know I have game king 044 boards an game king 3902 boards I also have a couple wms machines that I am working on, how do I know what I need to do to get them working with the bill validators do I have to reset the bill Validator for every machine I put it in or how would that work
-
I don't know...how can we tell you if you don't show us? :rotfl:
Take some pictures or something.
-
These are the two machines I’m working on I’ll post more pics when I get off here in an hour, but I have switched out the battery an use key chip 0028 got it cleared an going except for the bill Validator problems
-
A moderator moved it. You can't move it after you post it. As to where it belongs is a judgement call. If you're asking general bill validator questions then it would belong in the bill validator forum. If you're asking about how to set up or troubleshoot your bill validator in your I-game then it better fits the GK/I-game forum. Now if you posted it in a forum way off base, like the Arcade forum you get the frying pan treatment :fryingpan: :24:

S machines are old and don't have bill validators or even the capability for one.
S+ machines are typically 3 reels although they support up to 5. These have no video capabilities. 4 and 5 reelers seemed to be exclusive to Australia. The thinner reel baskets and reel shelfs are pretty much non existent in North America much less the glass, reel strips and chips. These use SET Chips to activate the bill validators
S2000 machines use Key Chips to activate features, validators and such.
The visual difference between an S2000 machine (which you appear to have) and a S+ is that the S2000 have dual speakers on the player tracking bar. The insides are quite different.
S2000 are backwards compatible with S+ - they can use both the S2000 games that have great audio features via vi SIMS as well as the older S+ chips.

Ok thanks I was thinking it was just one big forum sorry about that I’m trying to get it all figured out, everytime I search for a topic I get the can not find topic
-
No problem, you'll get it figured out.
So, is your Kitty Glitter machine working now then?
-
Everything except this bill acceptor/ Validator I’ve tried the crc reset I’ve even tried putting a different kind of Validator in with it, I was told the version an software were up to date
-
So what's the error message you get if you power the machine up now? Bill Validator Comm error, Bill Validator CRC error, or both?
-
Ok thank you for that explanation helps me a lot more when researching what I’m trying to do now how much am I missing on the bill Validator part I have 2 different ones would I have to have a key chip to activate either one or when I plug in the harness will they just automatically work which they are not doing
-
It’s both on the kitty machine it’s comm error, on my other one it’s the crc error an when I try to do the clear it says a time out has occurred I will be with the machine in about 15 minutes an I’ll show you

Wired up

I would suggest you post in the S2000 board "Help activating a bill validator for an S2000"
I own S+'s so I am not going to be too much help with solving this particular issue - but as you can tell I haunt the S+ forums while others do the same around the S2000 platforms and someone will jump in.
What I can tell you is that validators are not universal between platforms even if its the same hardware.
For instance you could have a WBA 11 (JCM World Bill acceptor) and depending on what firmware is on it - it might work for a S+, Bally or S2000 .... each use a different bill protocol.
You need the right firmware for your type of machine. I don't know what you have is right or wrong, I am just mentioning this as sometimes people buy random parts off of ebay or pull from another working platform and are expecting them to work.
With the S+ you use a SET chip to activate the validator and to tell it what the machine denomination is so it gives the appropriate number of credits. Ie if you SET it to 0.25 you get 4 credits for a $1.
With the S2000 I believe there is a Key Chip that you do something similar with but again I can't help you with the specifics on that.
Once again please post in the S2000 and I am sure you will get lots of help.

When doing a bill Validator test I get this but it won’t accept it either way
-
What is the other machine?
The wiring looks good. The 4th connector there isn't used.
This test doesn't work for most people because their machine's bill validator door switch is bypassed (so the machine sees it as being closed all the time). If yours is bypassed it will not work either.
-
Then theirs this one different Validator though
-
I still have a lot of machines to work on also
-
Ok, well it's best to focus on one machine at a time. Machines as you've illustrated often have different components and that can change what you need to do to fix it. A WBA validator is a lot different than a MEI validator even though they serve the same purpose (convert bills/tickets to credits).
You got to learn how to get the machines off their sides too. My back is getting sore lifting them upright :24:.
-
Lol ya I know it man
-
how much am I missing on the bill Validator part
That is just the transport pictured. The BV plugs into the black jack in the top front of the transport mech.
-
Kitty has no BV that I can see?
-
The pictured validator is missing the head assembly. Like the previous poster, you only have the transport. The validator cage also needs to have a cash can for the whole system to operate correctly.
-
Yes I have the
trash cash can an the head just the only picture I had of the Validator at the time, so where exactly is the jack port your talking about
-
Yea I have 2 different validators at the time of the pick I was switching them out
-
Does the BV have the correct protocol ID-024 ?
-
....so where exactly is the jack port your talking about
Click on photo below to see...>>>
-
Have all of it
-
S2000 and I-Game uses protocol ID-024
S+ uses protocol ID-023
Bally and WMS uses protocol ID-003
