Title: IGT S-PLUS, a bit of bad good luck.
Post by: Thegadgeteer on March 05, 2022, 08:28:52 PM
Hello techsperts,

I guess I did a dumb thing. My wife and I have a slant top S-Plus in our living room that we use as a piggy bank. The bill validater is out of date, so it only takes the "old" money. Every time we run across an old bill (or any quarter), in the machine it goes to be saved until we go to the casino. For a reason I can't seem to recall, I set the minimum payout to 9999, expecting noone would ever hit that jackpot. Well, guess what...  So, now my machine is wanting to spit out 10,000 quarters. It's there an easy (relatively) way to interrupt and reset that payout?

Thx!

Dave

Remove your MPU board and look at the CMOS RAM IC.  If it's in a removable socket carefully remove it and then re-install it.  That will remove the battery backup and it will lose it's memory.  When you power the machine back you will get a 61 error.  Follow the steps in this post starting at "Initializing the new game." and you should be back in business.

Beats cycling 10,000 coins through the hopper doesn't it?  Glad you're back up and running :applause:
