I purchased a Triple Diamond Deluxe today, (Yay Me) I know nothing about it. I tried resetting it and other trouble shooting things I could find on the forums and stuff. But I am in over my head, this is my first slot machine so I defiantly need some help. It look's as if I'm getting a error code 5, which is a motor error code that I found inside the door. Problem is I don't know which motor it's talking about, I actually got the machine to pay out once, and the reels still spin. But I can't put any coins in, they get stuck so I have to eject them. I also did the thing to find out what "board" I have, where you push the reset button until it reads out 4 on the coins played, it gave me 6291 on the winner paid. I will upload the photos I took.

So do you have a sample coin in the coin comparator? I have never seen a 5 error. What do you mean, that you "reset" the machine? Turned the key? The key put's it in accounting mode, unless you push the white test button next to the on/off switch

No, it’s clear.

The error’s are cleared, The machine will now take dollar bills. But it wont accept any quarters.

You have to slide it to the right and place a quarter in the slide. That is what lets to coin go past, If it is a nickel, it won't go thru. Since nothing it will jam everything. Notice my pic. with a .984 token in it

Check to see if all 4 tabs are snapped into place on the comparitor.

It is funny how people see a coin in there and go,"WOW I got a free quarter"

I believe I got it in there right, but the quarters and still getting stuck.

It appears you're missing a counterweight on the comparitor that may be the cause of the coins jamming.

Any idea’s on what I could try to replace it with?

Search around on the inside of the cabinet and see if it may be laying in the bottom somewhere. If you don't have any luck finding it you could try removing that piece and see if it will work without it.

I tightened the screw down that holds the quarters and the machine will take quarters now. But only 3 for a max bet, it essentially won’t bank them. Is this common practice for these machines?

Yes that is correct.

Wins can be programmed to go to credit.
When you insert bills they should go to credit.
You can change the game chip to use Montana Credits which will bank the coins, but there are limited themes that it works with.
