I really feel like a dummy, but upon opening a "barn find" I can't get the coin tray out. There are 2 suspicious phillips head screws that I don't have on my other S+. I tried a rubber mallet and then "gently" a framing hammer, but it won't budge up. Are these screws supposed to be there or is this some kind of a modification? THX

OOPS, this is the pic of the 2 phillips on the left side of the tray. seems like the head has been shaved on the left side to make it fit.
-
It should just lift out. Those screws on the left side are not normal, someone put them in for some reason. They may be making contact with the frame or even screwed into it. Back them out and see if you can get it to come off then.
-
I think those screws were changed because the originals may have been stripped out the threaded hole. Lay the machine on its back and tap on the bottom of the tray with a rubber mallet. The tray is rusted into the groove of the bottom of the cabinet where the tray sits into it.

Thanks, lubricant of choice - Master Blaster. 2x4 block and framing hammer loosened it up. Screws were some kind of a bush fix. Put in new battery holder and battery, and I am up and running!!!!!!!!!!

When all else fails...bigger hammer! Glad you got it going :applause:

Master Blaster never fails! now on to error codes!

The dreaded 3300 code! Was working for a bit after I changed the battery, then changed from tokens to quarters and got the 3300. Swapped out door optic sensor, no change. I have a SET038, do I throw it in? This machine does not have a bill changer. What next?

Do a search on the forum for code 3300, hopper empty is what the code is telling you. Usually filling the hopper back up with coins and a couple door closes it should spit out coins till the amount of payout is finished. Or it could be another issue with your hopper that the machine thinks hopper is out of coins

Problem solved! I swapped out hoppers on my 2 S + machines and for some reason both now work as they should. THX :applause: :applause: :applause:
