Title: S6000 code 91NC and stuck
Post by: roobliz on August 02, 2023, 01:41:44 PM
Hello everyone- This is a classic tale of if it isn't broke don't mess with it...

My S6000 (Black and White) was working perfectly after a battery replacement and RAM clear with chips I bought on eBay. The ticket printer would print tickets but the validator would not read them or credit the machine. I bought a TITO module but it wouldn't work because I was missing set-up settings that the seller said needs to be there: missing were 29, 19hi and lo and 17. So I bought a set of mains from eBay that the seller says many people use with tito, he didn't know if the ROMS included the missing settings but I figured I'd give it a shot. I installed the mains after a RAM clear (nothing else was done) and the machine came up with this 91NC after setting date/time. I figured no biggie I'll just do another RAM clear and re-install the old mains but now the code comes up as well and the machine is locked. I'm not sure how to clear this code, I've looked at as many prior posts as I can find but nothing so far has worked. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated...

I believe 91NC means the machine settings are set for a Progressive in the 11d menu and when powers up it can't communicate to a progressive unit and error's out. The settings for progressive in 11d are options 2 and 7. If not using progressive options 2 and 7  should be set at 0000. Do you have a progressive? If so , then the problem is the progressive cable disconnected at backplane or progressive unit, no power to progressive unit from power cord, or battery went dead on progressive unit

Thanks for the response, no progressive devices here. 2 and 7 are defaulted to zero (per the manual) but i can’t get past the 91NC to check. I’m suspecting there are some incompatibility issue with the mains I bought from eBay and my board but now even after several ram clears and putting the old mains in 91NC is all i get.

On DS1 dipswitch,  what are switches 1-8 set at?

1 meaning on, 1-8 11101010 but other than switching 8 on when doing the clears the settings have never been changed.

Try setting dip switches 1-7 all on. Then do a clear .  Use number 8 as needed to do a clear and leave off after clear
