Title: Bally Showboat Underpay 1 Coin - Help Please!
Post by: tmiron on September 01, 2023, 08:40:18 PM
Hello, I have a Bally 831-7G Showboat slot that only pays 19 coins on a 20 coin payout consistently.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you!

is the end of the 20 trace on the payout counter disc damaged?  If can get burned/pitted by arcing that happens when the wipers step off the end of the trace.  If it's just slightly damaged, you may be able to loosen the contact plate and twist it so the wipers are still on good trace material on the 19th step but are off the trace on the 20th step.  Verify other pays don't overpay by 1 if you do that.

got a picture of the payout disc and the entire front of the game?  If you pics are too big to post here, email them to slotpics@cdyn.com and I'll downsize/post them.

841-7G was made later than the documentation I have, so I don't know what payout disc it used.  What's the m-645-xxx number on it?

ok, that's too low a resolution picture to be able to zoom in a see the payouts :-)

take a look at the model number again ... is it 831-ZG?

if yes, then it's basically the same as an 831-ZE.  Main difference is the glass, and there's may be minor changes like when the bell rings.

paperwork for an 831-ZE is on https://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/ and what you mostly care about at the moment is the payout counter disc.  The diagram would be w-923-232 below so you can compare to what you have.  Especially check the area circled in red - that's the wiper contact area that may be damaged or have a wiper issue that david is talking about in the next post.

It’s possible the contracts are running off the the silver receiver strips to soon.
Step up the payout unit 19 times then check for continuity between the contacts and the silver strip.
Or just visually check to see where they have stopped.
If all other pays are correct, then the 20 pay blades could have gotten flattened.
The solution would be to add a little more arc to the blades.
This procedure is a little bit touchy as in keeping the contacts on the silver strips after adjusting.
