Title: Disabling meters with a Mississippi JUR chip
Post by: Yoeddy1 on July 27, 2015, 02:55:25 PM
Ok guys, need your help...

When changing JUR chips, what's the proper procedure?

Do I clear the game, power it down, take out the old JUR chip, put in the Mississippi JUR chip, clear again, and then install the game?

I'm doing this because I want to disable the meters?  Which by the way, once the Mississippi JUR chip is installed, do I then just disconnect the meters, or is there a setting in the menus to turn them off?

I have a chip coming any day, so I want to make sure I'm doing everything right.

Thanks,
Jason

Put new SJUR, then clear.  You can leave the meters connected, they just won't do anything anyway.  Or you can disconnect them, either way they won't make any noise.

For home use...to stop the annoying clicking sounds of the meters.

Thanks,
Jason

Where did you find a  Mississippi JUR chip?  I have a home use only 1.5 BB that I'd like to try that with...

Thank you!

IGT does not do sjur chips.  On iGames, gamekings  and S2000, you can just jumper a couple of leads on the cable that connects to the meters.  On the S+, you can just disconnect the meters.

The Mississippi Juris chip will have a max Payout of $1,200. Over that, you'll get a "Call Attendant - Hand Pay" that you will have to turn the attendant key and will lose the jackpot. (I know, it's a home game with TiTo, and all you have to do is add more money, but it's just the idea of losing all that money! :^) )

I have 2 WMS BB2s. If you disconnect the meters, you will get an error and not be able to play. (At least I did)
All below with Power Off
I rerouted my meters to the bottom of the cabinet and wrapped a dish towel around them after I installed my Columbia Juris chips. (0029-110)
No jackpot limit! No clicking sounds!
I can provide pics or detailed routing that I used. Just follow the cable, it's pretty easy.

I have the Columbia JUR chip.  You can set the payouts and meters both hard and soft to any amount of credits you want.  I have mine set for 10000 for Wonka and haven't heard from them since.
