I have a Bally Alpha that I'm getting 7 Segment LED's disconnected. I replaced the cable from the board to the LED's. I removed a working display and installed it and still the same problem. I even swapped the board with a working one to no avail. If I take the non working board and put in a working machine I get the same error. So I have a bad display, but why when I put a working display in this machine do I still get the same error?

Are you doing a clear everytime that you swap out one of these devices?

I just took another try at it. I took the working display and installed in the machine. I did a clear and same problem. The green light on the display blinks slowly not the normal quick blink. The green light on the board will
come on for about 5 seconds and then it goes out. Took the board back out and installed in the original machine and it works great. I metered out the wire harnesses and all is good. is there any way this could be caused by the back plain??
I'm about out of ideas!!

I turned the machine on this morning and now I have this on the led's
I searched the archives and found nothing.

Turns out the led boards on the sides of the reels were shorted. Replaced the display and two side boards and all works great.
