Title: "Bet One Credit" Button not working
Post by: mrv8outboard on January 06, 2016, 08:22:17 PM
I have a Double Wild Cherry and had a tilt code 12. I installed a battery holder and new battery. Got tilt code 61 then 61-1. Cleared them and the game seems to function correctly but the "Bet One Credit" button no longer lights and you can not bet just one credit. It is a 25 cent machine with max bet 50 cents. I can only assume that I inadvertently changed a setting but can not figure out which one? This is our first slot (pins I am okay with) any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.

Does the machine accumulate credits or do all of the pays get paid out to the coin tray?

Have you checked to make sure the socket didn't come unplugged while you had the door open? Or worse, did it crack or break? Those old machines get pretty brittle when it comes to the button housings.

I will double check on both scenarios and post back. Thank you.

The "cash out" button on will let credits accumulate. Once the are credits the "Bet One Credit" lights and works. This tells me the switch and light are okay. Now again once the credits are depleted, if I insert two quarters it will not light to "bet one credit"quarter of the two. Is it possible I changed it to 50 cents per credit rather than 25 cents? How would I verify that?

It is still 25 cents.

Open the door and press the little white test switch until you see a 5--( 0 or 1), make the 0 or 1 a 2 by tapping the spin button.

That should put you into credit all the time mode.

If you don't do that every time you run out of credits you have to press the cashout button to get the machine back into credit mode.

If you don't win or walk away for a while the cashout button will time out to non-credit mode.

Caveat, I hope it is that simple but some software requires different setup for credit mode.

if you are feeding quarters into the machine with no credits on the machine it will accept the quarters up to the max amount ( in your case 2)  then you can play the game. if you put one coin in then you can play the game  on one credit.  the only time the bet one button is active and lit is when you have accumulated  credits on the machine, then you can bet 1 or two credits and play the game.

seems everything is operating as it should.

The "Bet 1 Credit" button does exactly what the label says it will -- it will bet one credit only.  Coins inserted are not credits.  The only way to bet one coin when inserting coins is to only insert one coin.  You cannot insert two coins and then choose to only bet one.
