Grey cable. Where does it go and what does it do?

Where does this gray set of wires go and what do they do?

My assumption is they plug into the slot directly behind where I am holding them.

You are correct that is where it goes.
It is for communication between the top and bottom boxes on Vision, barcrest, and Reel Touch.
They won’t work without it being connected

So its on a S2000 3 reel.  I assume that is why it wasn't plugged in there is nothing for it to communicate with up top?  Or should I plug it in?
