Title: bally e2241 belly light replacement
Post by: poofdog on May 21, 2014, 12:35:31 PM
I have this machine and want to replace the belly light bulb.  What is the easiest way to do this?  I took out the 2 small screws on the bottom of the surround, and that didnt do much.  Thanks

There's a lot of screws in there, but if you did get the correct ones (I think there is just two) the belly light assembly should tilt out from the top of the assembly (glass, chrome frame and all the backing plate). It could be slightly glued in there from drinks being spilled in the machine. If it seems to be in there quite rigid, make sure you removed the proper screws. You will also need to unplug the wire harnesses that go to the light assembly. Most likely the bulbs are bad, but make sure the starter is good also.

Remove these two screws from inside the door. Then remove both electrical connectors. The belly glass assembly will come right out. Remove the two small screws under the chrome, and then you can get right at it.

Great photo of the belly glass retaining screws. Like they say, "one photo can save a lot of time".
Looking forward to seeing the machine cleaned up and running.
